Free Bike Tagging Events in Bournemouth
Bournemouth Central Neighbourhood Police Team will be providing a series of FREE Bike Tagging events at the Bournemouth Travel Interchange information office on the following dates:
Friday 3rd March from 5-6pm
Friday 14th April from 5-6pm
Friday 26th May from 5-6pm
Every Friday in June from 5-6pm
Every Friday in July from 5-6pm
Every Friday in August from 5-6pm
Bike tagging is like giving your bike its own registration number. Once your bike has been tagged it will be registered on Bike Register, the database which all police forces use. Once registered you will enjoy a number of benefits which mean your bike will be a less attractive target for thieves, and if stolen and recovered by the Police, your bike can easily be returned to you.
Plus, if your bike is stolen, you can flag it as stolen via your online Bike Register account and you can even select an option to tweet about it and harness the power of Social Media to help find your bike.
Bike tagging usually costs around £20 per bike and each bike takes roughly 5 minutes to tag. So make sure you take advantage of these FREE events.
You can find out more information about cycle security from this handy leaflet.
